The College of Liberal Arts

ICU is a single college of liberal arts, which offers more than thirty majors. Students do not need to choose a major before entering ICU. After exploring various topics in general education and foundation courses, students decide on their major by the end of their sophomore year.

One of ICU's missions is to serve international society. For this purpose, students will be expected to be proficient in both English and Japanese after fulfilling the requirements in the English for Liberal Arts Program (ELA) or the Japanese Language Programs (JLP).

Students, who study in the College of Liberal Arts for four years, acquire proficiency in English and Japanese, obtain the required number of units and present a senior thesis, are awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree.
