College of Asia Pacific Studies
Asia Pacific Studies (APS)

The College of Asia Pacific Studies (APS) is one of the two pillars of the University and concentrates on the following four areas of study: Environment and Development; Hospitality and Tourism; International Relations and Peace Studies; and Culture, Media and Society. The APS curriculum was revised in 2011 in order to stay up to date with the needs of contemporary society and to instill in our students advanced critical thinking and communication skills, an intercultural and international understanding, and effective decision making skills.
Students at APS can study from a social sciences perspective the diverse cultures, social structures and economic systems of the Asia Pacific region and also the many environmental and international problems the region faces. Our curriculum of foundation and specialist subjects takes students through a "soul searching journey" that invites them to critically examine their goals and objectives behind obtaining a university degree in their chosen area. We also aim to provide students with the opportunity to identify an important area of research into which, with our support, they can delve deeper and work towards creating practical solutions.

College of International Management
International Management (APM)

At the College of International Management (APM), students learn about the foundations and cutting edge aspects of business and, by the time they graduate, are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to lead active careers on the international business scene. Indeed many of our graduates are currently playing active roles around the world in a range of businesses and industries, and the College of International Management at APU continues to enjoy a reputation as an outstanding venue for developing such graduates. In other words, our graduates are in high demand.
From the 2011 academic year, several Foundation Subjects have been made compulsory to ensure that all APM students are fully equipped with the core management knowledge that will serve as the basis of their study in one of the four clusters available: Accounting and Finance; Marketing; Strategic Management and Organization; and Innovation and Economics. Building on our achievements over the last decade, we are pursuing a program of reform that includes eventual accreditation by the AACSB, a United States-based organization for business school accreditation that is the international standard of excellence in management education.
