SGS offers a liberal arts education in a personal setting, where small class size means that students can develop close and lasting relationship with the faculty. First year students who are not fluent in English focus on refining their language skills before moving on to their more advanced major courses. However, those who are already accomplished in the English language may also take Japanese courses and foundational Culture and Humanities courses. Therefore SGS is the perfect place for international students who want to study in Japan but don’t have the language skills to take a full university course load in Japanese.
