Helping International Students Find English-Taught Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs at Japanese Universities

Waseda University

Graduate School of Economics

Master's Program

The Graduate School of Economics strives for the development of economics and to become a place of highly focused, high-level interdisciplinary learning and research.
In pursuit of two goals – to train researchers and to create highly skilled professionals – we established the Economics Course and the Global Political Economy Course within the Graduate School of Economics. We have created an environment for education and research to encourage students to enhance their ability to think precisely based on economic theory and to analyze and comprehend a broad range of perspectives by strengthening coursework and enriching the joint-research supervision system.
In the Master's program, students must take Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Economic Data Analysis. These allow students to develop specialized knowledge and advanced ability to analyze data. We also provide advanced subjects in each course, thereby enabling students to conduct research at their own pace and in accordance with their own career plans.
The school has achieved excellent results in its efforts to internationalize. The number of international students has increased dramatically as a result of establishing an English-based Degree Program (September Admission) and the consequent enrichment of subjects taught in English.
We consider it one of our priorities to provide research and educational opportunities for scholars and students not only from Japan but also from around the world. We will continue seek out those who wish to play an active role on the world stage and are willing to overcome whatever obstacles they face as economic researchers and skilled professionals.
