Hokkaido University’s English Engineering Education Program was established in 2000 and ever since was expanding the English environment and promoting international spirit of Graduate school of Engineering. Program offers courses from almost all engineering fields in English for International and Japanese students. It assists students in the pursuit of high quality global education, supports students’ initiatives and enhances cultural exchange. e3 offers a number of scholarships for talented students.

School of Engineering is Hokkaido University’s largest, with nearly 3,000 undergraduate students and 1,000 graduate students including a large proportion from overseas. Additional Information Japanese Government MEXT e3 scholarship
e3 is allocated 16 full-support scholarships for Master’s and Doctoral students. Admission is from October only. Apply directly to the program. Application deadline is November 15th. Benefits: Monthly allowance of 145,000 yen for PhD or 144,000 yen for Master’s program; tuition and admission fees are not collected; travel expenses to Japan are supplied.
Support for privately funded students
MEXT honors scholarship (reservation system and system for enrolled students)
Financial assistance of 48,000 yen/month (for 6 to 12 months) is available for a number of students with good academic performance.
Tuition fee waiver - waiver/discount of tuition fees can be granted.
Pay-back system for Doctoral Students – full tuition fee support through the combination of tuition fee waiver and research assistant employment is available.
