American University - Ritsumeikan University Joint Degree Program

Joint degree programs are collaborative degrees offered by two different universities with educational and student support systems designed to develop graduates whose skills and knowledge are in demand. Being the first joint degree undergraduate program between the US and Japan, together, American University and Ritsumeikan University jointly confer a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global International Relations upon completion of the collaborative program requirements established by the partner institutions.
This program puts great emphasis upon the significance of learning about both the Western and non-Western perspectives of approaching international studies in a global sense. AU and RU will cultivate globally minded leaders who can take active roles in international fields through the program.

Additional Information The program brings together students from AU and RU, who will take classes from both institutions in the courses of their studies. Students will spend two full academic years at their home institution and two years at the host institution. They will take advantage of the strengths of both their home and host institution.
The program will deliver active learning through an environment where students can have first-hand experiences at the centers of international politics and Japanese culture.

The College of Global Liberal Arts (GLA), established in Osaka in April 2019 is the first in Japan to provide a college-wide dual degree program in collaboration with the Australian National University (ANU). GLA provides students with a comprehensive liberal arts education in English
required for our globalized times. The undergraduate dual degree program is offered jointly by GLA at RU and the College of Asia & the Pacific (CAP) at ANU. The dual approach will help to develop a competitive foundation for your career: applying your Asia-Pacific-wide experiences, intelligence, and in-depth knowledge to broaden business practices in global corporations.
