The university provides learning opportunities for Japanese students, international students, and working adults. Graduate students who wish to study Japanese culture, history and society of Japan and Asia in English are offered a program entirely in English. The MA program offers students an interdisciplinary selection of classes covering Japanese history, literature, material culture, media, contemporary art, traditional performing arts, and other cultural studies topics. Thesis supervision is conducted by leading scholars with a strong Japanese focus.

Additional Information Saitama University MA Program in Japanese and Asian Culture is newly established graduate course. Currently enrolled students include those from Italy, United States, Germany and Bangladesh.
