Master of Economics (MEcon) program

The MEcon program, comprised of classes on Japanese and Asian economy, society, and management, rests on the accumulated store of years of fieldwork of numerous faculty who excel in systems design and policy recommendation, and is committed to creating new socio-economic models for a sustainable Asia. Students enrolled in this program will master theories and methods useful for solving economic problems and graduate with the ability to contribute greatly to the further development of their home societies and of Asia in general. Students can choose classes from both MEcon program and another English program (Master of Arts program) in order to obtain an interdisciplinary perspective covering both the humanities and social sciences.

Application Type Open to everyone
Eligibility Applicants who have completed or are scheduled to complete a 16-year program of formal education from elementary school through university in a country or countries other than Japan.
Applicants who received education through correspondence courses provided by a country or countries other than Japan while residing in Japan and are otherwise identical to applicants in the above category.
Applicants who have completed or are scheduled to complete 15 years of education in a foreign country (this category needs eligibility assessment).
Applicants who have graduated or are scheduled to graduate from a Japanese university.
