Eligibility For admission to candidacy for the Ph.D. degree, applicants must have bachelor’s and master’s degrees based upon a distinguished record of academic achievement. Applicants should also have some background in the disciplines of art history, cultural anthropology, history, literature, political science, religion, and/or sociology through prior undergraduate and graduate education.
Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact potential dissertation supervisors before submitting their application. Examination Type & Date Screening takes place in two stages after the application deadline. Preliminary screening is an evaluation of the application documents. Applicants who pass this preliminary screening move to the final screening, which consists of an interview at Sophia University.
